First Presbyterian Church nurtures the kind of place where people experience a vibrant faith community that actively lives wholeness and grace.
First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield is a welcoming, Christ-centered congregation committed in faith and love to embracing, nurturing, and equipping all to serve God.
God is moving, and we follow forward by worshipping, welcoming, celebrating, connecting, and ministering.
We are an intergenerational community committed to passing on our faith to the next generation. Our community is open and affirming to all.
FPCD is open to people anywhere on their faith journey. We believe in engaging the tough questions of faith and living faithful actions.
There are multiple ways for you to connect with people and form lasting friendships at FPCD, from groups to volunteer opportunities.
FPCD is a hands-and-feet church with opportunities every month to serve the local community.

What is Sabbath? How do we celebrate it and for whom is it? In these sessions, we will explore Sabbath and rest in the Bible, as well as how it’s been interpreted in Christianity and Judaism for humans and other parts of the living world. Taught by Dr. Brooke Lester and the rev. dr. abby mohaupt.
Please join us for Feed My Starving Children on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 742 East Park Avenue, Libertyville. Bring your family and friends to participate. Donations of $10.00 per family would be helpful but not required.
On Ash Wednesday, March 5, we begin our spiritual journey to Easter with our traditional evening service — preceded by a simple soup supper hosted by the Fellowship Committee. We will serve a delicious and hearty soup starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Undercroft, with the service beginning in the Sanctuary at 7:00 p.m. Join us for this time of fellowship and reflection to start the Lenten season. No reservations necessary! P.S. There may be soup leftovers…bring along a jar or container if you’d like to take some home.
Traci Smith, an ordained minister, mother of three and author of several books, including "Faithful Families" and "Prayers for Faithful Families," will return to FPCD for a half-day program, “Generation to Generation: Passing on What Matters to our Children and Grandchildren.”
See more information on the Events Page. Sign up by March 10.
We invite you to participate in a wonderful opportunity to save lives and make a meaningful difference in our community. By choosing to give blood, you offer hope to those who are facing critical medical situations, giving them a chance to recover, renew their life, and health. This act of kindness embodies the core values of our faith and helps us establish deeper connections with others who share the same noble cause. By participating in the church's blood drive, we show our commitment to love, support, and heal our neighbors, strengthening the bonds of fellowship within our congregation and establishing a legacy of compassion for generations to come. Please join us and become a source of life and light for those in need.
