Sign up to Support Community Supported Agriculture

LibertyPrairie.org
This is the ninth year that FPCD has partnered with Liberty Prairie (formerly Prairie Wind Family Farm), a certified organic farm in Grayslake operated by the Miller family. The Millers are committed to making a tangible difference in their community through sustainable farming, animal welfare, and fresh food access for all. By reducing the distance your food travels, you increase freshness and nutrient density and add diversity to your diet. And all while supporting local family-scale farming! Shares of vegetables, fruits and eggs are delivered to FPCD every other Wednesday, May through November.

Presbyterian Women Mission of the Month

March & April
Lake County is home to an amazing Women’s Shelter — “A Safe Place” and PW is proud of its longstanding relationship with this organization. For many years, PW has featured it as one of our “Missions of the Month” collections. In addition to emergency shelter, it provides long-term shelter, programs, and counseling to help abused women move into better lives. We have asked if there was something specific that we could provide and the answer was to give items for ongoing daily needs and to please continue with our previous gifts. In that light, PW requests the following items: paper towels, plastic utensils, dishwasher detergent, paper napkins, dish detergent, tissues, laundry detergent, and fabric softener. Bring items to the PW Mission closet near the church office.

Step into Service this Lent: Help Us Collect 1,000 Pairs of Shoes for Soles4Souls!

March and April
This Lenten season, our children and youth are leading the way with a mission of love, compassion, and impact. We’re partnering with Soles4Souls, a nonprofit organization dedicated to turning shoes and clothing into opportunities. Through their programs, Soles4Souls provides much-needed relief to people worldwide and helps create jobs in developing countries by repurposing shoes and clothing.

Our goal is ambitious but achievable: To collect 1,000 pairs of shoes during Lent. Imagine the joy and hope we can bring to many lives through this simple act of generosity. Here’s how you can help: • Donate your gently worn shoes. Bring them to the collection locations at the West and JCH entrances. • Spread the word. Tell your friends, family, and neighbors about our mission and encourage them to contribute. • Pray for our mission. Lift up this project and the lives it will touch in your prayers.

Let’s join hands and soles as a church community to support this wonderful cause. Whether you’re a child, youth, or adult, everyone is invited to step into this mission of hope and change. Keep an eye out for updates as we track our progress toward the 1,000-pair goal. Together, we can make a world of difference this Lent — one pair of shoes at a time!

Join our Annual Blood Drive & Make a Life-Giving Impact

April 5 @ 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
We invite you to participate in a wonderful opportunity to save lives and make a meaningful difference in our community. By choosing to give blood, you offer hope to those who are facing critical medical situations, giving them a chance to recover, renew their life, and health. This act of kindness embodies the core values of our faith and helps us establish deeper connections with others who share the same noble cause. By participating in the church's blood drive, we show our commitment to love, support, and heal our neighbors, strengthening the bonds of fellowship within our congregation and establishing a legacy of compassion for generations to come. Please join us on April 5th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m, and become a source of life and light for those in need. Registration for the blood drive online and in the Wednesday E-blast.

One Great Hour of Sharing

Sunday, April 13 @ 9:30 a.m.
“And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.” Isaiah 58:12 Providing relief from natural disasters, food for the hungry and support for the poor and oppressed — we’ll learn about the amazing reach of this special offering over the weeks of Lent and gather gifts gladly on April 13! This Lenten season, our Sunday School families are invited to take part in this meaningful tradition — One Great Hour of Sharing! On the first Sunday of Lent, each family will receive a Fish Bank and a special Lenten calendar filled with creative ways to reflect on Jesus’ life and share His love with the world around us. Each day on the calendar includes family-friendly activities that encourage generosity, gratitude, and service. From simple acts of kindness to thoughtful prayers, these moments will help deepen your family’s faith and connection during Lent. Be sure to place you Fish Bank in a central spot — like your dining room table — as a daily reminder of our call to give and serve. We will collect the banks on Palm Sunday, as we come together to share our gifts and make a difference. Let’s journey through Lent with open hearts, hands ready to give, and a spirit of compassion!
