in Mission

First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield is a welcoming, Christ-centered congregation committed in faith and love to embracing, nurturing, and equipping all to serve God.

In Hope

God is moving, and we follow forward by worshipping, welcoming, celebrating, connecting, and ministering.

Our

Sundays in worship

Let the children come. FPCD is known in our community as the place where kids and youth like to come. We are also the spiritual home of adults in all stages and circumstances. We are not just the church of the future but the church of the present. In worship, we encounter the living God and become friends with each other.

Sunday Service starts at 9:30 a.m.

    Creative Doodling Art Class

Linny Freeman is offering  a followup to her popular class held last winter, when Linny showed attendees how to turn their doodling/daydreaming into small pieces of art. Participants will explore the use of repeating patterns and the beauty of lines, creating a unique art project. No experience is needed; everyone who is 14 and older can join in. Linny is a lifelong artist, teacher and designer on the faculty of the Art Center/Highland Park and Evanston Art Center and member of FPCD.  There is a registration fee of $10 to cover the cost of supplies. Sign up in the Friendly Office by Monday, January 13, to ensure there are enough supplies for everyone. Guests are welcome!

ADULT FORUM: Spiritual Sustenance from Poetry

You’ve heard the familiar saying, “When the going gets tough, the tough read poetry.” What? Is that how the saying actually goes? Join us for three weeks of meditative practice to help us not only survive, but also thrive this winter as we collaboratively study diverse poets and their work. This class includes homework, so be prepared to participate actively. Those who hate poetry are especially invited to attend. (Of course, those who love it are also especially invited, as are those who never really think about poetry at all). The class will be facilitated by a word-loving middle school teacher and FPCD member Jessica Perry, so come ready to have some fun and try new things. Please join us for this poetry feast!
