Feeding God's starving children hungry in body and spirit -our mission
A Christian nonprofit founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to 70 countries. The meals are used to help orphanages, schools, clinics, and feeding programs break the cycle of hunger and poverty. Last year, FMSC welcomed nearly 1.1 million volunteers to pack more than 284 million meals to feed more than 779,000 children daily for a year. The Minnesota-based charity spends more than 90% of total annual donations directly on feeding children.
First Presbyterian Church regularly volunteers at FMSC in Libertyville because we believe in caring for those in need. Twice a year, we plan a service night at FMSC. Adult fellowship participants and youth group members meet at FMSC and assemble the MannaPack meals. At the end of the event, we pray over all the meals as they are being prepared for shipping. One outing to FMSC feeds roughly 10,000 malnutritioned people or one family for an entire year!
Join our efforts and participate in a FMSC outing with any one of our groups! Or consider planning a FMSC event as a birthday party or other celebration gathering. For more information about Feed My Starving Children visit their website.
