Your Gift Matters

As Christians, we have been called to be a part of life greater than what we can achieve as individuals. Generosity opens the soul to God’s work in the world.

Bank Direct Bill-Pay

Give through your bank's bill-paying program. Many banks have the ability to send a check through the mail. That's right, it's as simple as providing our address and telling the bank how much to send and when to mail it. This could be set up as a one-time or recurring donation. We receive these types of checks all the time. Most banks do not charge either the church or you for this service so contact your bank to find out more about their bill-paying program. Make sure they mail the check to:

Pay your pledge online with your Visa or Mastercard (a service fee will be charged to FPCD). It's a great way to give consistently and helps us as a church manage our income more effectively so that we can operate more responsibly.

“Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

—Hebrews 11:1

Have you ever thought about the incredible forward-thinking of the Medieval architects who constructed the soaring cathedrals of Europe? Often, as these cathedrals were being built, the forests that supplied the timber for these marvelous edifices were managed sustainably to ensure a continuous supply of timber for construction and maintenance in the future. In 150 years, young saplings would become the strong timbers needed to replace worn-out or damaged beams. The architects planted cathedral forests and planned for the health of the building even as it was being built.

These cathedral forests are the ultimate examples of a deeply grounded faith; trees were planted with the assurance that these sacred centers would still be active decades later, and when that sacred space needed repair, the necessary timber would be ready and waiting. Planting was an act of faith, a confidence in the long-term vitality of their faith community.

Our beautiful church is not quite a Medieval cathedral, but it is “Deerfield’s cathedral,” its stately tower lifted in the heart of the downtown. It is now our time to “plant cathedral trees” to provide for our sacred space’s future and sustain our church’s hope-filled presence in the community.

faithworks, the capital campaign for First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield, asks you to help us rebuild, renew, and rejoice.

  • Rebuild upgrade critical functions of the church building
  • Renew revitalize and renovate to enhance the spiritual commitment and faith within our congregation
  • Rejoice celebrate our hope for the long-term future of our church

Like the early cathedral builders who planted forests for the long-term vitality of their congregations, we are asking that you take part in not only the physical renovation of our spiritual home but also in the long-term optimism and possibility for our congregation many years into the future. The faith exemplified by building out into the future “is the certainty of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).
