The First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield's mission partnership with Ramon Celis in the Yucatan Peninsula began in 1975. Since then, more than 1,000 volunteers from FPCD have worked with Pastor Celis. Senior High groups and adult groups have joined him in his work for the Presbyterian Church in the Yucatan Peninsula.
Over the years, Pastor Celis has provided our congregants opportunities to build dozens of churches, an orphanage, and a hospital in some of the most underprivileged areas of Mexico. Our partnership with Pastor Celis has not only had an impact on the communities we serve, but it has also affected the faith of hundreds of FPCD youth and adults. Each mission trip to the Yucatan provides participants with a chance to see, hear, and become part of God's helping hands in a world in need.
